Sally Nencini
Sally Nencini was born in County Armagh in Northern Ireland and studied menswear at the Royal College of Art. This led to a career in fashion where she designed for Levi’s and M&S amongst others. Sally left the industry to concentrate on raising her three children and this new full time occupation rekindled a long-held interest in designing and creating knitted lambswool animals, blankets and cushions. Sally set up her business from her home in south east London in 2009 but is now based in Norwich, Norfolk, from where she oversees production all of which is carried out in the UK. Her products have rapidly developed into gentle yet recognisable designs with a delightful British sensibility, her love of vintage toys, especially the imagery and colours of early Galt and Abbatt wooden puzzles and picture cards are predominant influences in her work. Sally has also trained as an upholsterer, hand embroidering the top cover of chairs to create functional works of art.
