Boris Berlin & Poul Christiansen

According to Boris Berlin and Poul Christiansen, good design is more than just a solution to the primary functional problem. Good design also features cultural, philosophical and aesthetic elements. For that very reason, the final result is always extremely personal and greatly influenced by the cultural backgrounds and experiences of the designers. A liberated and experimental approach to the design process combined with a sharp eye for the latest production techniques is essential. It is important not to be tied to one discipline or ideal, inspiration can come from anywhere. Boris and Poul are especially tuned to the glories to be found within nature and have appropriated it for many of their highly successful products. The design duo established their studio Komplot in 1987 and are now considered among the most innovative of Danish designers, managing to both continue and renew the Danish design traditions and to keep in step with the latest international developments.
