Tom Dixon Spring Brass

Spring is an extraordinary pendant lamp made up of a gleaming whirlwind of pliant stainless-steel ribbons arranged around a custom-made dimmable Tom Dixon LED ring. The see through vortex thus created can be easily adjusted to a variety of silhouettes and sizes from a flat arrangement, reminiscent of a spirograph drawing, to a saucer configuration and on to a fuller shape akin to a oblate sphere. The Spring light is available in three sizes and in bright brass or pure white and the collapsable nature of the spiral design allows the voluminous shades to be easily flat-packed thus reducing its transportation impact. The Spring is a clever, beautiful light with a mercurial personality that can complement your ever changing mood.

By the late 1980s, he was working for Cappellini for whom he designed the Iconic ‘S’ chair. He became a household name with Jack, his polyethylene sitting, stacking, lighting thing and in 1998 was appointed head of design by Habitat and later Creative Director. In 2001, Dixon was given an OBE and in 2002 established his own brand, launching its first accessories range at Maison et Objet, Paris. The company’s products are now sold in 65 countries.
