Tom Dixon Copper Shade

Every once in a while someone comes up with not only a new manufacturing process but also the perfect new product to demonstrate it, the best selling Copper Shade by Tom Dixon is such a product. The original idea was to emulate a polished copper sphere shade and to achieve the desired mirror surface a thin layer of pure metal was exploded onto the inner surface of a polycarbonate globe. The result however was slightly unexpected as the new technique created a surface of such extraordinary reflectivity that it surpassed even the most polished of metals. The Copper Shade reflects everything around it with incredible clarity and being polycarbonate is very light and can be hung from non structural ceilings or in spectacular groupings. Available in 25 and 45 cm diameters the Copper Shade is a light that makes the most of its surroundings and is guaranteed to always give you a warm glow.
