Moooi Kroon 11

The Kroon 11 is a very unusual light from Moooi who are venturing deeper and deeper into uncharted LED country. The Kroon is designed by Zmik a couple of likely lads from Switzerland who design things for no other reason than they can. Of course it takes a company like Moooi to actually turn the things into a reality and Kroon is a typical example of the typically untypical results. Made with a mechanism in the base the Kronn can pull off a rather neat trick in that it shapeshifts. Simply twist the knob and watch as the 11 LED tubes of the Kroon open like an inverted skinned umbrella. It can remain fully open or closed and any position in between and comes in black with clear LED glass tubes or in champagne with frosted glass tubes for a softer glow. The Kroon is well suited to use over tables or in the middle of a room with a high ceiling where its shapeshifting qualities can be fully utilised. This is a wonderful alternative to the traditional chandelier, an LED light with a genuine twist.
