&Tradition flowerpot VP2 large

£499.00

In 1968 the student revolts in Paris, Rome and the United States were attempting to overthrow the old, bombastic rule and replace it with a younger generation of peace, love and harmony. Witness the unexpected power of flowers. If any one designer could be said to capture the spirit of the sixties then it was probably Verner Panton, his colourful chairs had even been sent to the future, 2001 to be precise, by Stanley Kubrick. It was in 1969 that Panton came up with one of his most elegant and memorable designs, the VP1 a hanging light consisting of nothing more than two metal semi spheres of different sizes, one inside the other. This was followed by this light, the much larger VP2 and two lovely table lamps one with the semi spheres on a stem and the other with them on a fluidly bent wire frame which allowed the head to be raised or lowered. Available in a range of colours and finishes the perfect simplicity of the VP design is still unsurpassed and is appreciated to this day.
