Sebastian Wrong was born in 1971 in London, England and studied for a degree in Fine Art at Norwich School of Art and Camberwell School of Art, graduating BA Hons in 1993. His education, in the field of sculpture, has carried over to his design practice which has developed within a 3D fine art framework. His interests are in material manipulation, purity of form, function and honesty of design. The work is cultivated from the balance between function, aesthetics and refinement. Purpose begets beauty. Drove Limited was formed in September 2001 and the Spun Light was the first product that the new company designed. It was launched in 2001 at 100% Design in London and 2002 at the Salone Satellite in Milan. The Spun exemplifies everything that is right about Wrong and was shortlisted for the Peugeot design award in 2001 and has rapidly become a modern classic. It is a tribute to its presence and clarity of design that it is often thought of as a light that has been around a lot longer.
