Welovekaoru Blaggard Teacup

Design house Piccadilly Curtains in collaboration with Welovekaoru have created Blaggard, the perfect English tea set to commemorate all those souls lost at tea. An intricate series of blue tattoos, as if collected at every port of call, adorn a quintessential fine bone china teapot, teacups, saucers and side plates. Random items and illustrations of every kind cover their white surfaces like the out turned contents of a sailor’s pockets. Welovekaoru is proud to work with small independent family potteries in Stoke who specialise in the most translucent of bone chinas. The Blaggard tea set exemplifies this approach with each beautifully crafted piece helping in the resurrection of lost manufacturing processes and combining them with modern techniques and aesthetics. This truly is tattoo as art.

Welovekaoru is a boutique design studio based in London and was established by ceramic designer, Kaoru Parry. Welovekaoru specialise in creating beautiful contemporary English ceramics, preserving the traditional values of true craftsmanship and the quality of British design and production. Some of the Welovekaoru designs are created in-house and others are produced by guest designers or independent design studios. The resulting pieces each employ specialised manufacturing processes or long forgotten crafts such as flower making, and combine these traditional methods to create a truly modern design aesthetic. The studio works closely with small independent family-run potteries in Stoke-On-Trent where the highest quality ceramics have been produced for over two hundred years. These incredibly skilled artisans and craftsmen produce each item from the finest translucent English bone china so that all Welovekaoru products are legacy pieces.
