Muuto
Muuto are a Finnish design company who are striving to expand the Scandinavian design tradition with a new and original outlook. It is probably fitting then that their name is inspired by the Finnish word muutos, which roughly translated means ‘new perspective’. For Muuto good design starts with the individual, they hand pick the brightest design talent in Scandinavia and then give them the freedom to express their own personal story through everyday objects. Some wish to alter the world, others find passion in colour and shape or draw deeply from their past. How do they see a chair or a vase or a lamp, what is their relationship with the most ordinary of objects? How can that relationship reinvent and reinvigorate? How can the familiar have new life and love breathed into it? The answer is muutos.
